About PSS

The Public Services Section (PSS) of the Medical Library Association (MLA) provides an opportunity for its members to consult with colleagues on emerging issues in all aspects of medical and health information public services.  The members of PSS are a diverse group and include Directors and Assistant Directors, Reference, Information Access, Education and Instructional Services, Outreach, Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Acquisitions Librarians, and more.

PSS extends a welcome to any MLA member interested in joining.  Dues are $10 paid annually to the MLA Membership office.

PSS Mission

To foster communication, education, and professional growth and development among individuals who provide reference information, literature searches, interlibrary loan, circulation, and instructional services in health sciences libraries.

Business

At the annual meeting, PSS conducts a business meeting and sponsors programs and speakers. The section bylaws were last updated in May 2011.
